Who we are

Our Community

We are a group of young scholars who are interested in studying issues in East Asia (but not limited to East Asia).

Our Goal

The main purpose of EASYA is to provide a platform for students and young scholars from all over the world to discuss and study East Asian affairs, to practice their academic skills, and to further promote East Asia to the world.

Our Role

We would like to function as a nexus for students and young scholars from all over the world to study East Asian affairs and to make comparative studies between East Asia and other regions.

Our Commiment

We fully recognise the need to promote academic freedom, freedom of expression, human rights, and diversity.

Our Scope

At EAYSA, we are mainly focusing on Humanities and Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on East Asian countries. Examples of fields are:

What we do

Academic Events

  • Hosting academic conferences
  • Partnering with other organisations and university departments to co-host conferences
  • Dispatching our members/editors to other conferences as speakers/editors

Publications

  • Anchor, composed of articles related to East Asian Affairs
  • Anchor is editor-reviewed.

Events

  • Workshops, Seminar, Talks, Panel Discussions, Annual Events, and other casual activities

What we provide

Network for students and young scholars to learn from each other and work together.

Opportunities for students and young scholars to practice their academic skills as conference organisers, editors, and/or authors.

Members have priorities to participate in events held by the organisation. We also provide exclusive events to our members.

We will help members sharing their publications within our network. For example, your publication will be listed in our Newsletter and emailed to our members.


Partnership
