Eleanor, born and raised in Hong Kong, is currently a Ph.D. student at Kyushu University, where she studies Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) politics, particularly focusing on the North African diaspora activism in Europe. She also completed her Master’s Degree  in Kyushu University on the same topic. During her undergraduate studies, she earned a Certificate in European Studies in Sciences Po Strasbourg, France, where she deepened her knowledge of EU politics and human rights law. Additionally, she obtained research grant from the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong to complete her Bachelor’s thesis under the guidance from Queen’s University Belfast on post-conflict reconciliation and peacebuilding in Northern Ireland. Currently based in Fukuoka, she is also working for a NGO called Cambodian Mine-removal Campaign (CMC), striving to advance landmine eradication and support for survivors in Cambodia. In her leisure time, Eleanor enjoys pottery making, photography, and gardening.

Research interests: post-conflict state-building, peace-building and reconciliation, post-authoritarian democratization processes, diasporic identities, diaspora activism, transnationalism, political secularism
