01. What is the 2026 International Conference on Human Rights: Youth in Asia ?

This 2026 International Conference on Human Rights: Youth in Asia (2026 ICHR) is the third year of the conference. It proposes to offer an international, intergeneration, and inclusive opportunity for young scholars to engage with human rights issues in the contemporary world. Aside from submission and academic qualities, we are equally emphasizing and encouraging young people to express and discuss human rights issues with others, and hence to cultivate a sense of involvement in the collective process of human rights development. Moreover, having Tokyo as our location for the conference, young students and scholars who are living or interested in human rights issues in Asia now have a close venue and opportunity to share their thoughts. They are more encouraged than ever to discuss the human rights issues that surround them, especially in the Asian context.

The 2026 ICHR is co-organized by East Asia Young Scholars Association (EAYSA), Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) Tokyo, and the Graduate Program on Human Security (HSP) and Research Center for Sustainable Peace (RCSP), the University of Tokyo. EAYSA is mainly responsible for the Editorial Board of the conference.
